Lots of her favourite children’s books are also on our favourites list, so that may explain why we liked Erica’s Elephant so much. And now, over to Sylvia…

Iron Fist (The Inventory #1) by Andy Briggs — author interview

The rules are: if you find a secret inventory of utterly deadly battle tech do not try it, do not tell anyone, and do not let thieves in behind you! What’s more secret than top-secret? The Inventory. Home to the deadliest inventions the world isn’t ready for. Invisible camouflage. HoverBoots. Indestructible metals. Plus a giant creature of chaos: war robot Iron Fist. No one has ever broken past the state-of-the-art AI security system. (Seriously, most bad guys have no idea this stuff is even there.)

Author interview — Create Your Own Spy Mission by Andrew and Chris Judge

CoverWe’re delighted to be kicking off the blog tour for Andrew and Chris Judge’s new book Create Your Own Spy Mission with a brilliant interview. If you are not familiar with Chris and Andrew’s previous books, let me explain how imaginative and addictive their books are, because…you doodle your own adventure! You draw the story, help finish characters, build up the town, or design a giant ice cream powered robot to fight off the super villains that you doodle! Doodles get into lots of trouble, and it is up to you to doodle them out of it! I loved this book, the doodling started the minute this book arrived in the post, it really is a great way to engage the reader.

Author interview — Lindsay Littleson

Lily McLeanThe Mixed-Up Summer of Lily McLean by Lindsay Littleson was one of our favourite books last year. The winner of the 2014 Kelpies Prize, it is a perfect middle grade read — our dual review is here. Lindsay has kindly agreed to answer our questions on her inspirations, her own childhood, and what she has planned next.

Author interview — Holly Webb

Return to the Secret Garden(1)One of my favourite things about book blogging is the opportunity to ask authors questions about their books. I’m taking part in the Return to the Secret Garden blog tour (you can read my review here) and Holly Webb kindly agreed to answer my questions about what inspired her to write a sequel to The Secret Garden, how she developed the characters and what she might possibly write about next…

Welcome to our blog. We are a mum and daughter who love books, and love reading books together. So, we thought we would share our thoughts on some of our favourite books. We’d like to hear what you think too, and any suggestions of new books for us to read.
